At 12:22 a.m., officers responded to Central Avenue and Courtlandt Street on a report of shots fired an engaged the 15-year-old in a foot pursuit, New Brunswick police said. The 15-year-old was found to be in possession of a handgun, police said.
The juvenile was charged with juvenile delinquency, police said. If he was an adult, he would be charged with multiple weapons offenses, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, police aid.
There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident, police said.
The 15-year-old also faces charges for a shooting on Sunday, Aug. 11, police said. The juvenile fired a shot inside a residence on Sanford Street, striking the victim in the leg, police said.
He was charged with juvenile delinquency. If he was an adult, he would be charged with attempted murder, and multiple weapons offenses, police said.
